At Ohana Academy, we believe that all children have the right to a holistic education, in an enriching, nurturing environment, with knowledgeable teachers. In our Junior Kindergarten, Preschool and Toddler Classrooms, we offer a modified Montessori curriculum that has been carefully designed to integrate traditional Montessori principles with modern educational approaches. Everything we do is filtered through love, kindness and respect. Our classrooms are an additional teacher that foster a nurturing environment, which empower children to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. Our dedicated team of highly educated teachers are inspiring young minds, one lesson at a time.

Leadership is a core value at Ohana Academy. Not only do we strive to be leaders and give back to our community, but we also focus on creating future leaders of tomorrow. Our program models positive leadership skills as well as offers our students leadership opportunities. Every child is important and our goal is to help each child bring out the best in themselves.
Every child deserves a good quality education. Ohana Academy fosters the holistic development of each child. Our programs are Montessori inspired as “play is the work of the child” – Maria Montessori. Our goal is to activate each child’s own natural desire to learn. We do this through providing engaging activities, giving children the opportunity to choose, providing adequate time to work on their choice, acknowledging the work that has been done and creating an enriching environment. Our classrooms offer practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics and cultural (geography, history, nature and science) activities.
Accountability is crucial within our practice as educators and as a child care facility. When a family chooses a facility to enroll their child, that facility has an obligation to fulfil what they are claiming to offer. Unfortunately, most facilities fall short on their promise. Ohana Academy is proud to be raising the bar of child care in our community and will always offer what is promised. Integrity will always be our guide.
We have the utmost respect for what we do as educators, for the children in our care, for the families that have chosen us and for the environment around us. Our teachers model respect on a daily basis as children first learn through observations and then are trusted to put what they have learned into their daily routines as all children are capable human beings.
When young children spend a good amount of consistent time in a child care facility, that facility becomes a second home to them. Ohana means “family” and that is exactly what we are here to offer: a loving, caring, supportive and nurturing environment for our children, families and teachers.
