Ohana Academy is a second home to our child. The “teachers” are the furthest thing from that, but rather have become family. We trust our son who started off being quiet, shy, and submissive, to confident, outgoing, and communicative. As parents, it is truly the best feeling to be able to drop off your kid every morning, knowing they are well cared for, being prepared for upcoming school years, and truly having the most fun.
The care providers are the best of the best. I can say with the utmost confidence, after attending another mainstream daycare, that when you attend Ohana Academy, you will realize what you have been missing. They truly were the missing piece to our family puzzle.
In addition to the quality of care services, the owner of Ohana Academy, Stephanie, is truly the most caring, educated, and compassionate human. She is the BEST cheerleader to not only each and every child, but to the parents. Stephanie normalizes the ups and downs of parenting, and is truly there to support your family through it all. You truly get wrap around care when you attend Ohana Academy—much like a big hug.

We’ve only been at Ohana for a few months now but our daughter absolutely loves her preschool! She is always so excited to go, and it’s wonderful to see her so happy to learn and play. The teachers are incredible – warm, caring, and truly invested in each child’s development which shows because our daughter always talks about how much she loves them. She didn’t really attend daycare so this was our first time sending her somewhere and we’re so grateful to have found a place where she feels safe, loved and encouraged to grow. Ohana Academy has been absolutely amazing for my girl. I am so happy, she is thriving and learning so much as well as having fun. School is her absolute favorite thing and it's all thanks to the wonderful teachers and great curriculum they have. She has become way more independent and her social skills are incredible. I honestly can say I would never take my daughter to another daycare/preschool center. I never have to worry about her because I know she is in good hands. I recommend this school to any parent that is on the edge about sending your kid to daycare/preschool. Ohana Academy is a great place for your littles. Stephanie is a beautiful, kind person and has worked around alot of things with me including potty training my girl. She has been nothing but amazing and her childcare centers reflect that. We could not be more grateful for the exceptional care and nurturing environment provided at Ohana Academy. From the moment Ohana took over our centre, we knew our son, Fox, was in good hands. The staff are not only kind and professional but truly invested in the well-being and development of each child AND management is very invested in the well-being and happiness of their staff.
Fox is in both the daycare and the preschool program and has grown so much during his time here—both in terms of his social skills and his love for learning. The teachers foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that makes every child feel valued and supported. Fox initially had some big feelings about being separated from us but with the gentle support and understanding of all the teachers he managed to work through it and now loves attending every day. We can see how much he enjoys the creative activities, outdoor play, and the way the staff encourage his curiosity and imagination.

We were a little nervous about our 3-year-old starting preschool for the first time last Fall, but Stephanie and the Ohana team ensured she settled in smoothly and now she loves going to school every day. Our daughter started at a Ohana this year and we have been so happy with the care she receives. From community walks and outdoor time, to daily art and science experiments, the classrooms always seem to be doing something new and exciting. The team at Ohana is so passionate about what they do and it really comes through in the care they provide. There is clear communication and quick responses at both a classroom and administrative level. Safety is clearly a priority at Ohana and is evident in both their policies and their classroom set up. We have had experience at a few different daycares in Kelowna and Ohana truly is the best.

When our family unexpectedly lost our daycare at the end of March, with no notice or reason, we were devastated and left scrambling. As an entrepreneur with a first responder husband, finding a new place that felt right for our children was a top priority, but I was under pressure to make it happen quickly. Then, we found Ohana Academy, and I was able to secure a spot for my eldest in preschool, eventually moving both children into the full-time Junior Kindergarten program.
Since joining Ohana, our kids have truly flourished. They’re happier, calmer, and their educational progress has exceeded all expectations. My oldest was fully prepared for kindergarten in less than five months, putting him well ahead of the curve! Every morning, instead of trying to cling to me at drop-off, they’re genuinely excited to go to everyday.

Ms. Stephanie and the rest of the Ohana Academy team are absolutely fantastic. My son, Jonathan was in the preschool program with Ms. Ami and he absolutely thrived working with the Ohana team. They provide a wonderful supportive environment while fostering a sense of independence that sets a fantastic foundation for later school years. The lessons incorporated into the daily curriculum helped bring out his inquisitive nature; as an example, he still routinely asks about what the food we are eating does to provide nutrition for a healthy body. Overall if you are looking for a nurturing, supportive environment in which your kids can learn and grow you would be hard pressed to find a better place!

Ohana academy is a phenomenal institution full of caring, passionate childhood educators. My eldest started preschool this year and she absolutely loves it. She has also grown so much since starting in the fall and I’ve noticed a huge improvement in her speech and overall interest to learn and grow. Her little sister and little brother will be following in her footsteps and attending Ohana Academy when it comes time for them to start school. Ms. Heather and Ms. Tahara are great. My daughter hugs them every time she arrives and leaves her class. Ms. Melissa, Mr. Jodie and Ms. Stephanie complete the amazing Ohana family and make it such a special learning environment for my daughter. I can’t thank everyone enough at Ohana for making myself, my husband and my babies feel like family.

Our family loves Ohana Academy. After trying multiple centres in past, we finally found a place that offers everything that we value in childcare. We appreciate that our kiddos receive high quality education with highly educated and experienced teachers. Our little ones get to build relationships with the same teachers and as parents we do not need to worry about staff turnover. The classrooms and outdoor play areas are beautiful and safe. We also love that Ohana is a small childcare centre and does not have the overstimulation and chaos that tends to come with large centres. We are so happy our kiddos attend Ohana Academy.
